"Chronicle" (2012) was a surprisingly interesting movie!

I was messing arround on IMDB one day and looked at some of the connections in "Stranger Things" (2017 - today) and was expecting a ton of stuff to be listed there since there's a bunch of 80s movie refrences and found the movie "Chronicle" (2012) I have never heard of it and saw it had some really good reviews so I decided to check it out for myself. When I read the basic premis for this movie I expected it to be something like "The Blair Witch Project" (1999) or more recently "Echo" (2015), which a film I really didn't like it so my expectations were not to high (but also not to low either). After I was done with it I was very positivitly suprised. I genuinely liked the characters and their dynamics and all thir actors also do a really good and realistic with the material given (plus there are some pretty funny moments). I also like it in the same way as a Stephen King story and it's really easy to see how this influence the greater parts of "Stranger Things". The sci-fi elements flowed seamlessly with the more grounded approach. The found footage format is take it or leave it, it still has some of the same problems as most films in the same subgenre but it doesn't take away too much. It probably would have been the best for them to do a mix of regular film and found footage. It's a great film and is one that I'm absolutely gonna revisit and it would be nice to hear more people talk about it or hear what others thought of it. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/36QGCzp
