After rewatching the film, on Netflix UK, I was reminded how great the film was, in not only the performance capture that still holds up, but the overall storyline, music and the actors’ performances given this was how they filmed the movie. It really feels as though Paramount could have gotten a good series of adventure films from the Tintin stories and it’s a real shame that neither Spielberg nor Jackson’s schedule have allowed them to fully concentrate on a sequel, even though Jackson has always said he’d like to make another one. It’s also a good change of roles for Daniel Craig, being in a villainous role which he excels at, as Sakharine/Red Rackham, and I think shows how he should take on more antagonistic roles after James Bond. It was also pleasant to see an antagonist who isn’t just an idiot who was easily defeated in an animated film, Tintin and Haddock actually had to out wit him to succeed. Then you have some great action set pieces, such as the Unicorn ship flashback and the chase scene through Bagghar.Like I said, it’s shame we’ve never got a sequel yet and although it appears to be stuck in development hell, unless either Spielberg or Jackson outright say a sequel will never be made I still have some small hope that we’ll eventually get one. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2EAkCNb
