The Terminator franchise after 2 is just a big disappointment, what are your thoughts on it?

Everyone agrees that Terminator 1-2 are classics and fantastic movies in pretty much everyway.Sadly after that every Terminator movie has been bad despite the potential, its baffling how bad they messed up for so many years. We have two lazy rehashes with Terminator 3 and Dark Fate, just the same old Terminator plot done again in a much worse way. In Terminator 3 it was the badly placed humor, bad actor for John Connor and overall lack of tension (good ending though).Dark Fate was even worse and took a big shit on basically the whole franchise with killing off the whole point (John Connor) in the lamest way possible..only to do the same thing again (so apart from "subverting expectations in the beginning, they weren't even creative).Terminator Genysis was probably the biggest mess in terms of plot (all over the place), had a weak actor for Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor didn't feel right to me either. Now we get to Terminator Salvation. I think this is the only movie since 2 with a refreshing idea and the right premise (finally setting a game during the Future War) + good casting for John Connor (Christian Bale) but they fucked it up. Bale looks bored, Sam Worington's character is bland and gets too much focus, the future setting looks generic and nothing like what was portrayed before etc.Overall this franchise just needs to die via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2Z9zF94
