I'm slowly making my way through all of Daniel Radcliffe's movies because he does some bonkers films but always pulls them off somehow. Swiss Army Man is no different, but what got me about this film was just how gorgeous this film is. It has a absurdly crude premise: a guy (Paul Dano) lost at sea is about to commit suicide, but finds a body washed up on shore (Daniel Radcliffe) and with the use of the corpse's decomposing gases, teeth, and whatnot, finds a will to live and a new friend. In hallucinating conversations with the corpse, he examines his own mortality and how he's lived his life, and takes the corpse on a ride to find civilization. It's ridiculous and should not be as excellent as it is. The screenplay plays off its own absurdity, but it's beautifully directed, the photography is gorgeous, the set design is amazing, and the SOUNDTRACK. It's been a long time since I've been so immersed emotionally in a film by its soundtrack alone. It's on Netflix rn. Enjoy. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3bHfVw7
