Finally got to catch this last night and there was something cathartic about seeing Shia play the man who pushed him to become who he is today, I know the supporting actor lineup is pretty stacked this year when it comes to the Academy Awards and whatnot and as cool as it would be to see Shia get the recognition for this role that he deserves, I think it whether or not he gets nominated says nothing about how amazing, raw and relatable this role felt, he made him both sympathetic yet almost despicable and Lucas Hedges and Noah Jupe did amazing at capturing younger Labeouf at two distinct times in his life (right before he got his big break with Even Stevens and when he was in rehab) Just thought I’d share, I know LaBeouf has gotten a lot of hate over the years but this movie really shows that he has a strong appreciation for acting and I’m really glad to see him making a comeback to the world of film and acting via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2NRP6wq
