Finally watched Green Room. Wow.

A couple years back I had seen some positive stuff online about Green Room and put it on my "watch someday" mental list, but never did. I'm way behind on movies (still haven't seen Blade Runner 2049 despite the original being one of my all time favorites). Finally got around to it (it's on Amazon Prime) and, like the title says, WOW.It can feel unnecessary to say the same stuff that's been said by many reviewers but this movie is insane. Brutal. Cringe inducing. Intense. Harrowing. So well done. I think what's most impressive about it is how realistic it is about people's abilities, and how people would react in certain situations. Not like action/horror movie characters, but like real people. They don't know what to do and aren't afraid to admit it. They don't hold a gun for probably the first time in their lives, and automatically know how to load it or chamber a round, and they don't hit someone right between the eyes from 15 feet away while shooting in the dark. People who you really wish would survive end up dying in unexpected and anticlimactic ways. The violence is sickening without resorting to lingering close ups (with a few exceptions for sure). And damn, the dogs are things of nightmares.I remember seeing the Blair Witch Project in the theater, and having a unique film experience where I truly felt like I was stuck out in the woods with the characters. Green Room was very similar. Great movie. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/33QT4ev
