Let's talk about Mr. Bean's Holiday and why is it one of the greatest comedy masterpiece ever made.

Mr. Bean is a very funny character, but his first cinematic bout, a 1997 movie titled Bean, is not a really great experience. Having Bean more talkative (and sometimes crazier) than he should, and also having a more "American" slapstick is sometimes not really joyful to watch. And then came 2007, where a stand-alone sequel titled Mr. Bean's Holiday is released. To note, I did not watch the movie up until 2010, where I watched it on a local channel station. And it reminds me why I loved Rowan Atkinson and his portrayal as Bean.In this movie, Bean won a holiday trip to Cannes, France, and it's already off to a great start, where Bean is walking through (a literal) straight line without even caring about anything else through him, causing a good chunk of chaos. And then he dined at a French seafood restaurant, and seeing him tried to eat an allegedly raw lobster is so hilarious. But then the conflict, where he accidentally separates someone with his son at the train. His attempt to entertain him are straight from his original series, and it's still hilarious as it is the last time. When they're both lost after losing their ticket, Mr. Bean tried to have money, with one of the funniest musical scene ever since Tom Hanks' piano scene in Big, and he really sells it well. And then he gets lost again, and he's trying to hitchhike, and he tried hitchhiking with an old man, but his bike can't hold the two of them, so he tried to steal the bike, but the grandpa easily catch up on him, and it's so hilarious. After a good-night sleep, he's stranded in a village, which gets attacked by the Germans, he tried to save the girl, but fortunately it was just an ad shooting by a narcissistic director, portrayed by Willem Dafoe.Wait, I haven't talked about one of the most fun detail, huh? Yep. Besides the trip, he also won a video camera, and he record all of his shenanigans, and remember, this will be an important detail in the latter part of the movie. He wants to charge the videocam, and it makes Dafoe's ad shooting failed because Bean plugged off the explosion effect so he could charge his camera. And when he plug it back, it just BOOM. So satisfying seeing Dafoe's hat dropping down near Bean. And then, Mr. Bean finally find someone to hitchhike, and he's so lucky that he find an actress on her way to Cannes to attend the Festival and seeing her debut in a movie director by Dafoe, and she drives a 1977 Mini (just like the legendary Bean's car), and it brings back nostalgia (to both Bean, and to me). The actress thought Bean is Russian, and then on the way, they found the kid Bean lost, and then they're driving at night on the way to Cannes (with Bean saving the day after the actress fall asleep). And soon, the actress know that Bean is with the kid of a director, and then tried to disguise them so they could go to the Festival. After Bean finds out that they cut the actress' part, he decided to change the film with his videotape, and all of the scenes in the videotape fits correctly with Dafoe's narration, and it ended with the most heartwarming way, the kid finally reunited with his dad, and Dafoe got some acknowledgement for things he didn't do.And it end with a musical performance at the beach, and Mr. Bean happily enjoy his time. This movie is really fun for me, because all of the jokes hits, and Mr. Bean is just a goofy character, and seeing him like this is so fun. This is, without a doubt, my most favorite movie of all-time.(credit to u/mrmoogshoes's comment at this post for reminding me of this beautiful movie) via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2Q6DLtN
