"Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" - Don't let the title fool you, this is a funny but moving and quite touching coming of age teen comedy

For me, this will always be the best thing Christina Applegate ever did with her career. Don't Tell mom the Babysitter's Dead is a funny movie, I laughed myself silly with the first 15 minutes but after the babysitter croaked and Applegate's Suellen has to find a job until her mom is away, I was surprised to see how the tone changes to something a bit more serious though the movie continues to be hilarious thanks to Joanna Cassidy's ditzy boss Rose and her sleazy boyfriend played by John Getz.Applegate's Suellen poses as someone who's older for the job but by learning to be a breadwinner, her character grows up. If before she wanted to party, she starts to appreciate the responsibility of supporting a family. And this also goes with her family, the grungy brother who ditches the heavy metal for a suit, the tomboy daughter wearing a dress and being less anti-social...etc. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2qg9Epg
