I dunno about all of you, but as someone who remembers watching Curse of the Black Pearl with my sister when I was seven, then seeing Dead Man's Chest and At World's End in theaters... It seemed like the screenwriters/directors meant for these movies to be it. Like, they created a fun, witty trilogy. End scene. But then Stranger Tides happened... and Dead Men Tell No Tales.I've never considered the Pirates movies to be more than what they are: witty, entertaining pirate-action cinema. No serious topics, no acting that would win Oscars or anything. But generally for rewatchability, the first three seem solid enough. Am I alone in feeling that Disney just wanted more money out of the franchise and decided to make those last two films, maybe in hopes of creating a similar model as what they've done with the MCU but ultimately failing? Because it actually kinda annoys me (much like how Disney/Marvel is going to keep making Marvel films after Endgame when really, they should have just stopped.) via /r/movies https://ift.tt/30iHhDa
