It’d be a first to see a sequel to a biopic, which I know might not be popular with the over abundance of bio movies, but I feel while Walk the Line did a good job showing Cash’s early life, drug abuse, and love with June Carter, it ends after the Folsom Prison concert with a happily ever after. I feel like the later parts of his life were just as if not more interesting. He coasted off his icon status that was cemented after the 60’s but he also started to lose his relevance with the changing music scene and went through a stagnant period. In the early 90’s he partnered with producer Rick Rubin, who let him make albums with no studio involvement that were more stripped down and reinvented Cash’s sound, while introducing him to a new generation. The whole story is straight out of a movie leading up to his final single “Hurt” which perfectly summarized his struggles and redemption. Also I feel since starring in Walk the Line, Joaquin Phoenix has carved a spot out for himself as one of the most versatile actors out there. Hell, Joker is blowing up right now, so I’m sure people will wonder what insane project he will do next. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2LPieCa
