Meg Ryan, from America's Sweetheart to struggling actress

People who weren't alive through that era have no idea how HUGE Meg Ryan was. She was more popular than Julia Roberts back then, from her collaborations with Tom Hanks to the romantic comedies she did and she even showed she had wide range by doing the occasional drama one being When a Man Loves a Woman which got her rave reviews. In the 90s, she could do no wrong.Them came Russell Crowe in "Proof of Life" and the alleged affair which cracked the image the public had of her but the worse came when she did "In the Cut" by Jane Campion, an explicit soft-core movie that was poorly received and shocked many who were used to Ryan's clean cut image. From then on, nothing was ever the same.I did assume her work in The Women by Jane Campion would have brought Ryan back but the response to her plastic surgery overshadowed her contribution and Ryan went back to her Garbo semi-retirement. via /r/movies http://bit.ly/2IG5fRT
