Surf's Up is an animated masterpiece

Ok, masterpiece might be an exaggeration, but it's pretty darn good. If you took Spiderverse, The Office, and threw in some Penguins and surfing, then you'd have the wonderful movie that is Surf's Up. Surf's Up is an animated movie about penguins who surf that is both hilarious and inspiring.It developes each of its main characters very well, and shows that all people fail sometimes. It explores finding ones identity, and defining what is important above all else.It also has a mockumentary style with various instances of adult humour mixed in that make for a great experience. Not to mention- gorgeous animated scenes of the ocean and surfing, well casted voice acting roles, and an awesome soundtrack.Surf's Up sits around the high tier animated comedies such as Kung Fu Panda, Monsters Inc, and Shrek, yet you will not find it appreciated or rated very highly in most places.
