What was the best film you watched last week? (05/19/19 - 05/26/19)

The way this works is that you post a review of the best film you watched this week. It doesn't have to be a new release, just any film you have seen over the last seven days that you feel is worth talking about. Here are some rules.1. Check to see if your favourite film of last week has been posted already.2. Please post your favourite film of last week.3. NO TV SHOWS!4. ALWAYS use spoiler tags. I am not a mod so I can’t erase them. So please be kind and don’t ruin movies for others.5. Try to explain why you like a movie, in addition to the title. ——————————————————————Last Week’s Best Submissions:/u/whatzgood: ExcerptI rewatched Aladdin (1992) in preparation for the remake... it's still one of the best Disney movies IMHO.Aladdin and Jasmine are incredibly likable and well written characters, and they have a lot of chemistry as a couple. Aladdin is kindhearted and intelligent, yet flawed in the way he approaches his goals. Jasmine has solidified herself as my favourite Disney Princess. She is kind and smart like Aladdin, but it is very admirable how she is strong in her want to control her own future and how she is unimpressed by the characteristics of a typical prince.../u/cremefraiche92: ExcerptI rewatched Funny People for the second time this week. The first time I saw it I was sold on Rogen/Sandler/Apatow already so I rented it on that basis, but it certainly wasn’t what I expected. It’s not an un-funny movie, but 2008 me could have been forgiven for thinking it was going to be a straight up comedy, given I had pretty much judged a book by its cover. I really liked it that first time and I was interested to see if I would again... via /r/movies http://bit.ly/2VTX9JQ
