Recommendation: Finally saw Pacific Rim: Uprising

I recommend not seeing it. What an awful movie.​As a fan of the first, I have to say I lost most of my interest when I learned the sequel was losing Guillermo Del Toro, Charlie Hunnam and Irdis Elba. It was a silly movie with some major mis-steps but it also was a ton of fun throughout.​Uprising on the other hand was simply putrid start to finish.Retconning the original to create a new plot where the Kaiju have to do something at Mt. FujiPlacing Mt. Fuji on the city limit of TokyoThe generic look and name of all the JaegersA little girl being able to build a Jaeger in a garage while it took the combined resources of all the Earth's governments to build them in the first placeRipping off Ender's Game as an inspiration for a subplotScott Eastwood​Besides the visuals, this film was a just awful start to finish.
