Imagine the benefit for filmmakers if the biggest streaming services, like Netflix, created a category just for short films? I feel like they would find a pretty big audience, as most people do not log onto Netflix prepared to watch an entire 2:30 hour movie. But if it’s 15 minutes, maybe?Plus, this could make it a lot easier for those who are interested to watch the Oscar-nominated short films leading up to the show. I’ve never been able to see that many, but have always wanted to. This is the one category that’s accessible for aspiring filmmakers, and having a platform where you can watch what others have done could be amazing.I think it would be both cheap and beneficial to soooo many people to have short films as a category on a place like Netflix.
