The Dark Knight Rises got a mixed reception, but it’s easily better than every D.C. movie released since

I’m including Wonder Woman in that. Some of the reasons people dislike that movie (a semi-retired Batman, etc.) work perfectly well within the world as established by Nolan, and ultimately it’s a really entertaining film with great performances (okay, apart from that one death scene) that does a great job of tying together the things people enjoyed from. The first two films.I never did quite understand the lukewarm response, but having just recently seen Aquaman... less so than ever. I can see how people would find stuff to like about Aquaman but it’s stilted, hokey and overlong. I don’t think even fans of the movie would dispute that. It does far less interesting character work than TRKR and yeah, while it’s willingness to embrace the comics roots does it many favours (I’ll take that crazy ass Black Manta helmet over “...Robin” any day) it’s just straight up a poor man’s version of the kind of film Ragnarok ACTUALLY is.TDKR meanwhile is both a decent Batman movie, and a decent Nolan movie. It’s easily the best DC film for six years, and I don’t think the competition is even close. via /r/movies http://bit.ly/2SjewCP
