Just want to give a shoutout to all the terrific first-time directors this year

First-time feature directors always manage to catch peoples' attentions because audiences and critics want to see what someone new can bring to the table, but both the quality and quantity of those films seemed to be much higher than usual this year in particular. Here is a list of the directors who showed us what they can bring to the director's chair for the first time in 2018:Ari Aster (Hereditary)Bo Burnham (Eighth Grade)Aneesh Chaganty (Searching)Cory Finley (Thoroughbreds)Bradley Cooper (A Star is Born)Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You)Jonah Hill (mid90s)Jonathan and Josh Baker (Kin)Jim Cummings (Thunder Road)Paul Dano (Wildlife)Carlos Lopez Estrada (Blindspotting)Kay Cannon (Blockers)Bart Layton (American Animals)Duncan Skiles (The Clovehitch Killer)I'm sure this is not a comprehensive list, so if you're aware of any others, give them a shout out here as well. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2UMJqFp
