can't believe Atlantis: The Lost Empire was a critical and commercial failure

only 49% on Rotten Tomatoes and 186m worldwide on a 120m budget (not including marketing)? Can't believe it. This is a terrific sci fi animated adventure movie. With memorable characters, great voice work, beautiful animation, terrific music, great action, etc. I don't know why the critics were so hard on it and why audiences didn't go to see it. Then again, in terms of audiences, sci fi animated movies are tough sell.
