watched Highlander (1986) for the first time and count me as a fan

I love the way this movie looks in the city scenes. Reminds me of Terminator 1movie was more emotional than I expected. The "Who Wants to Live Forever" scene and the death of Connor's wife really got to meThe Queen songs are always talked about the score by Michael Kamen doesn't get enough credit. It's majestic and just listening to it makes you feel like you're going on an epic adventurehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49AySiJkiw0also Christopher Lambert isn't really as bad people say IMO. He brings a nice naivete and almost innocence to his past self and suitable intensity and weariness to his present day character. Sure another actor might have made Connor more charismatic but Lambert is unique and makes the character is ownClancy Brown is just a standout. He is always an actor that can make a movie better by just his presence. I'm all for complex villains but sometimes it's nice to see a villain that is unapologetically evil and creepy and the Kurgan fits that billthe movie definitely has some bad fight choreography and plot holes regarding the Immortals. No doubt about thatI know a remake is coming and while this is definitely not some masterpiece and even if there are things they can definitely improve (better lead actor, going deeper into the mythology, better fight choreography) it will just lack a lot of things that make this movie work (Sean Connery, Clancy Brown, Queen, Michael Kamen, the gritty 80s look for the city scenes etc). We'll see I guess via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3k30SDg
