I'm so done with fake deaths. They completely ruin any suspense or consequences of a characters actions.

I know it's been said a million times but I'm so tired of fake out deaths. Whenever a main character or side character dies in a movie I just roll my eyes because I know the magic juju potion/snap/kiss of love will bring them back in the next act or at the very most, the next movie. Here's the reasons why fake out deaths need to go.It removes all sadness of a characters death. I don't care how emotionally invested i am in a character, when they die it's hard to feel anything because I know they'll be back.It completely negates any sacrifice the character made. "This is the stone of human salvation, it requires the soul of one pure heart to spare all of humanity" Main Character: I will sacrifice my life for all of humanity! Second main character "Grand mega space council main character must come back because they saved all of humanity which includes himself!" Grand Mega Space Council "oh yea you right." Boom their sacrifice means literally nothing. It removes all consequences. It's an easy ending that can be recycled for most types of movies. It's an easy way to set up a sequel that didn't need to existIt removes all suspenseIt can be argued that the entertainment is how they're going to bring the character back to life, but I argue thats a lazy 3rd act. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/3xDN1YG
