Christ, this movie messed me up. There were several points where I very nearly started crying, and at one point I heard myself say out loud "God, I don't want to live in this world anymore".It made me even more anti-war than I already was, but made me realize that my hardline stance of "American soldiers are not heroes, just assassins" was not quite fair. Nothing in life is that black and white. It's soul-destroying knowing that humans will never stop coming up with reasons to hate and kill each other, and the knowledge that this will never end until either we take each other out or the planet does it for us.Oh, and Coppola even killed the fucking puppy.
