Now more than ever we need Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy to satirize ludicrous conspiracy theories on the level of Qanon and Flat Earth in one of their signature mockumentaries

The last two days I discovered a niche sub-genre of documentary that I’m deeply into which is documentary about really “out there” conspiracy theories and the people that believe in them. After binging all of Q: Into the Storm and following it up with Behind the Curve I think as a society we are primed for a mockumentary to help point out the insanity and let us all laugh at how ridiculous things have become. Enter Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy. Together they made a career creating brilliant mockumentaries like Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, and A Mighty Wind, satirizing real world phenomena such as community theater, dog shows, and the folk music scene. Now that batshit insane conspiracy theories spread over the internet are a genuine phenomenon, I really would love to see a satirical take on them, in the mockumentary format. Anyone else really into seeing Guest and Levy, along with their staples like Catherine O’Hara, Michael McKean, Parker Posey, Jennifer Coolidge, John Michael Higgins, and Michael Hitchcock all meet up for the first international conference of Lizard People Truthers? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2Q0pAIV
