Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) is stop motion comedy gold.

Wes Anderson is known for being a somewhat unique director, with a very unique style, and even varying aspect ratios, black and white, and even a mix of the two. Along with his own brand of humor and ensemble casts, he tends to win over most people with this odd concoction. But what is definetly an overlooked movie of his, is the one time he made a kids movie: Fantastic Mr. Fox, based on the Roald Dahl book. It's stop motion comedy gold.Like the book, the movie follows the snarky, sly Mr. Fox as he tries to do one last coup, by stealing from the farmers Boggis, Bunce and Bean. The trio of farmers however, have other plans: Tired of the sly fox, the farmers go in kahoots, and attempt to get of the fox AND his family. Although it's a bit more derivative from the book, considering that the book is merely 90 pages long. But goddamn it, it's hilarious as all hell. Seeing George Clooney as a fox, and Bill Murray as badger bickering with each other is actually so stupid that it's hilarious. And the jokes? I laugh my ass off. It's also animated through stop motion, which Wes Anderson would do again, with Isle of Dogs (2018). The stop motion is insanely good and creative, and two times in a short time span, you get a dog POV shot. Imagine the FPS scene in the unrated version of Doom (2005), except it's on top of a dog. The movie actually makes me think of the Norwegian classic The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix (1975). (Ever seen Pinchcliffe? It's goddamn impossible to not like it.)I mean it, Fantastic Mr. Fox is gold. It's stacked with creative stop motion, a plethora of hilarious, quirky characters, and funny jokes. If you haven't seen it, give it a watch. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2QZOUPQ
