Why did people stopped making movies with epic spaces battles right when the CGI became good enough for them?

Hello everyone, recently I started re-watching some sci-fi movies I liked and I realized something. There are almost no movies made after 2000 that have big space battles in them. The only I could think of are Star Wars in Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One and Rise of Skywalker and Ender's Game. The new Star Trek's have some ship combat in them but small scale. There are a few series like Stargate, Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica that have some bigger space battles but they are still only early 2000s.Maybe I am missing some movies or series, but I searched the web for quite some time and I haven't found any other movies than the ones I mentioned.Sci-fi is my favorite genre, so I might be a bit subjective on the matter, but shouldn't there be a lot more big, epic space battles in movies? Don't people want to see dozens of ships fight one another? via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2MM7fhh
