I recently saw an interesting article that argumented how many of the old horror films are still better on VHS. «Alien» was the biggest example, where a side-by-side comparison showed some interesting details. First, the overall lower resolution makes early CGI and practical effect more believable. Secondly, on VHS and old TVs, the grainy effect over black areas on the screen can make it harder to determine if there is movement in the dark or not, whereas newer versions made i clear if there was or not which leaves less to the imagination. This was mainly about horror movies, but what other movies are best viewed on VHS and why?Edit: cjf_colluns linked the video: https://youtu.be/xbZMqS-fW-8 Tnx 😊 via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2U4UJtE
