Something I noticed about Parasite on my third viewing (SPOILERS)

Absolutely blown away by this movie! Stunning piece of art. Something I noticed this time, on my third viewing, is that if you look at the body count at the end of the film, each of the three family's lost people in proportion to their class status. (maybe everyone noticed this immediately, but I didn't haha)The Park Family: Loses Mr. Park, 1/4 of their whole family. The Kim Family: Loses Ki-Jung and Mr. Kim - 1/2 of their family. (Technically Mr. Kim survived, but it's unlikely they'll ever see him again). The Basement Family: Both dead. The lowest on the totem pole don't make it out.One of the major themes in Parasite is how the same event affects the different classes separately, as shown with the rain storm that midlly inconveniences the Parks and wipes out the Kim's apartment. Therefore it's almost poetic that the "event" that is the movie also effects each strata of class proportionately. The upper class will always lose less in tragedy. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/36zQyvG
