Kurt Russell was Best Actor worthy good in Miracle

I’m sure this case has already been made on this page, and I’m sure people get tired of the “x performance or movie is underrated” posts, but I need to state my case. While the story of Miracle speaks for itself and is so well known, what shouldn’t get lost in watching the film is how good Kurt Russell was. From expertly taking on Herb Brooks’ Minnesota accent, to adopting his style and hair, to capturing his presence and intensity, Russell is tremendous. I think the “feel good” nature of Miracle tends to removes it, and movies like it, off the Academy’s radar; however, Russell was deserving for a nomination IMO. I love the movie and am coming off rewatch 5+, so perhaps I’m biased. But he is somehow able to stand out even from a story as amazing as that 1980 hockey team. I wish more people would recognize how good he was in that role. That is all. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/358BPZd
