Hello,One of my first childhood memories is being read The Hobbit. I cut my reading teeth on LOTR as a tiny babe. I absolutely loved the theatrical cut when I saw it as a young teenager and considered it the height of cinema at the time.I never thought to go back and watch them again because nearly every scene was burned into my memory. Some better and some worse than my own reading of the books, but absolutely memorable in their own right.I just started watching the extended series for the first time and holy fucking shit -- all of the extra care and time taken to really make each major beat be memorable and awesome, there's so much more buildup, drama, and excitement. I honestly feel like I'm actually experiencing LOTR for the first time, for the third time... which is mind-numbing in the best kind of way.Sorry to vent, gush, or whatever. I haven't recently read the sub rules so hopefully this doesn't get thrown out with the trash. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2GD5n7A
