Al Pacino is fantastic in Serpico

Fresh off The Godfather, Al Pacino has the starring role as Frank Serpico. It’s the true story of an honest cop in NYC during the 60s-70s who refuses to take bribes when everyone else around him is. You truly feel for the man as he came in idealistic and wanting to make a difference, but when you see all your colleagues and partners taking bribes and kickbacks it can be tough to stay clean. The explosiveness and charisma that Pacino brings may be no surprise to those that follow his work, but Pacino is a fresh face on the scene in ‘73. He had just done a performance of a lifetime as a calm and calculating Michael Corleone in one of (if not) the greatest films of all time. This was a tremendous follow up as Serpico goes through such a swing of emotions and I love the one man against the world theme (in classic New York no less). https://boxd.it/1mPeSp via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2UPTsXN
