TREASON is a dark comedy about the danger and absurdity of American politics. I wrote and directed the film, and my old friend François Comtois (drummer of Young the Giant) composed the score. He’ll stop in for a few questions as well. And if you want to hear the two of us talk shop and basketball, we just recorded a podcast. In Treason, a man rules a made-up nation with his family as his only subjects. When his son takes the mission too far and his daughter questions everything, he fights for control in the face of family, country, and reality. Here’s the trailer.Last year, I produced Treason as a play for the Hollywood Fringe Festival, adapted it into a movie, raised funding from Seed & Spark, and had an 11-day shoot in the desert of Twentynine Palms, California. It was picked up for distribution by 1091 Pictures, and we’re out now on digital platforms. Our soundtrack, available on streaming, features the original score by François Comtois and new music by Eric Cannata (also of Young the Giant) and singer-songwriter Philippe Bronchtein.
