OHMSS turned 50 last year and imo it holds up equally well as the best of Connery films. George Lazenby isnt a popular Bond and hence his lone film doesnt get much attention, but it absolutely deserves some love.In contrast to the the early Bonds, this film has a strong emotional core thanks largely to Diana Rigg's character Tracy. The production design, locations, actions, music and cinematography are all great and Telly Savalas serves an intimidating Blofeld.But the best part of the film is the middle act where Bond actually does some spy work and infiltrates Blofeld's institution atop the Swiss mountains. It starts off on a lighter note but gradually the tension builds steadily and ends on a thrilling (for its time) ski chase, scored bombastically by John Barry.The ending of the movie makes it stand out from other Bond films and is one of the rare moments where we see an emotional Bond.The film takes a while to get going and there are a few useless scenes in between, but on the whole it's a terrific picture that deserves a place in the top 10 Bonds of all time via /r/movies https://ift.tt/329nR6E
