I wish short films were more accessible

Every year, hundred of short films are released, a few are released on the Web but most of them are featured in festivals. Most of the time these short films won’t have a digital or physical release, meaning that if you didn’t catch them at some festival you just missed your shot.Sometimes I watch the trailer for a short film and think “oh, can’t wait to watch it!” and cue to two years later and the film is still impossible to watch. There are a few ressources to watch short films (like short films dot com) and YouTube/Vimeo, but they’re so all over the place that its hard to find a short film in specific. The other issue is that nobody watches them because they never hear of them, and I think short films are just as good as films, only shorter. With short films you can only watch the most popular, usually the ones who won awards and such, but all the rest is simply lost forever to one screening in some festival in Italy.I wish services like Netflix would pick up short films, or that big studios (like Warner, Universal or Fox) would collect short films in feature-long collections to allow projection in theaters. For a short film lover who lives in the middle of nowhere, enjoying my hobby is a pain in the ass. With that said, do you know of any ressources to watch short films ? Right now I’m waiting for my copies of Eyeslicer Seasons 1 & 2 (10h collections of surreal shorts) and I scroll through Vimeo and Shortfilms.com occasionally . via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2Y5JsM6
