I get taste is subjective. Nevertheless, Jim Carrey got terrific reviews for each of these movies, critics went wild over his performance, and he won two Golden Globes for Best Actor for each of these as well so for the Academy to dismiss those performances was crazy and I've often wondered if there was some kind of bias since Jim Carrey was popular for his gross-out, slapstick comedies. I know the media wondered the same as well, at the time.I watched Man on the Moon last night and he's fucking brilliant in it.
