I want to keep this largely spoiler-free because anyone who hasn’t seen Knives Out absolutely needs to watch it at face value. But Daniel Craig as Detective Blanc was unbelievably entertaining for every second he was on screen.I know the term “character actor” gets thrown around a lot, but it was easy to tell that Craig was having a blast playing this character. I’ve spent so long watching him be James Bond and nothing else that it felt like a breath of fresh air watching him be in a role he actually enjoys. It’s like watching Hugh Jackman being in musicals after years of playing Wolverine. It’s great to see them in both roles, but it’s also nice being able to see Craig display such unbridled, joyous passion in such a terrific movie.(Side note: I still have very mixed feelings about Rian Johnson as a director. But Knives Out truly seemed like a once-in-a-lifetime passion project for him, and I’m extremely happy that it did so well at the box office.) via /r/movies https://ift.tt/30HZyxr
