Recently re listened to the 25th anniversary edition of Vangelis’ score for Blade Runner and I was once again blown away by how ahead of its time it is. It doesn’t feel like an 80s electronic score, it feels so modern, like it could’ve been composed today. Cues like “Blade Runner Blues” and “Tears in Rain” contribute so much to the immersion and atmosphere of the film and are just beautiful examples of film scoring.
