I always think about a young Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Scent of a Woman, showing an amazing amount of depth and subtlety in a small role that didn't necessarily need all of it. I saw this when I was really young and remember being struck by this slimy but hurting little side character almost as much as Al Pacino's. Later on in life and revisited the movie and was like, dude, that was the great Phillip Seymour Hoffman! Also the boy Christian Bale in Empire of the Sun, carrying an epic historic drama in a way many grown men probably could not. Also Joaquin Phoenix in To Die For. So much weird charisma. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2KPsw5D
