My friend and I are both teens, and we wanted to watch Zombieland. Our parents didn’t want us watching the R version, so thankfully there was a free TV edit with Fios On Demand, which we had. We turned it on, and we could tell when the language was edited, just by looking at the characters mouth movements, but we didn’t mind. It was a fun movie nonetheless. The worst they would say was the B word. S words and F words were edited with cleaner phrases such as “freaktard” or very a drawled out “shoot”. Again we didn’t mind, we still loved the movie. When the movie was done my friend went home, I was curious, so I looked up a few scenes on YouTube. I was quite surprised that literally none of the violence was edited at all. Now why is this? Because America is screwed up. We can show all the blood and guts we want, but if a certain 4 letter word is even muttered, sorry, can’t show that. At school, I hear kids say the F word, and much worse multiple times a day. I’ve just gotten used to it, but I’ve never see a student literally eating another student... so why is it the opposite in movies? That’s just my take on this, if anyone thinks differently, I am happy to discuss in he comments!P.S. If anyone was wondering, the channel this was on was Freeform, a very popular channel that if a kid was just looking for a good movie to watch, would flip to that channel. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2NIZOnB
