It is an absolute masterpiece! The writing, the acting, the cinematography, and the music in particular were perfect. Russel Crowe really excelled as Captain Jack Aubrey, its my personal favorite role of his.I have always loved movies about that period in history the Napoleonic Wars, and in that particular setting, the Navy and the sea, but I have yet to find a film that has captured the feeling of that era since MaC.It is hands down the best naval warfare film in my opinion, the battles felt epic and brutal at the same time. The scene were they board the French ship still gives me shivers. It's a shame it never got to be a franchise. Its also a shame it ran up against Lord of the Rings: Return of the King at the Oscars too! via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2KlH1Ox
