Saw The Lighthouse last night - Dafoe and Pattinson give the best acting of their lives

Was searching for the official Lighthouse thread and didn't find it so figured I'd post this here. I can't remember having as much fun watching a film performance as I did last night watching Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson as Thomas Wake and Ephraim Winslow. Dafoe is commanding, insane, garrulous, on a knife edge; Pattinson is perfect as a man slowly being consumed by madness. Their performances feel like a cinema throwback - the opposite of understated in the best way. I wish there were a joint Oscar so they could win simultaneously. And whoever shot and lighted this film deserves all the awards. Would see it again in a heartbeat. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2MV4tm5
