What are some of your favorite “non traditional” horror movies that are terrifying, unsettling and creepy yet don’t follow the standard horror movie tropes?

I ask because I saw Gone Girl the other day and the character of Amy Dunne is a downright psychopath who would fit in perfectly into a horror movie but the movie isn’t horror at all. She appears to be a normal character on the outside but as the movie progresses, you see all the fucked up shit she does to get back at her husband.Ex Machina is another good example based solely on the last 10 minutes that I won’t spoil.
