Amadeus is an incredible film

I remember seeing it a long time ago when I was a kid and I thought it was pretty good, but I just recently rewatched it for the first time in nearly 20 years and HOLY SHIT this movie is just phenomenal. Miloš Forman crafted a beautiful, heartbreaking, and occasionally laugh-out-loud hilarious ode to the greatest composer of the classical era and the struggle of creating art. F. Murray Abraham's performance as Salieri stood out to me the most: he's mediocre and he knows it, but he still knows great music when he hears it and it drives him mad knowing that Mozart - this impudent and brash rock star of a child - creates these incredible compositions with such ease. Tom Hulce kills it as Mozart, with his pink wigs and immature demeanor and his outrageous laugh, but the film really belongs to Abraham. The sets are magnificent (I think it was all filmed on location in Prague), the supporting cast is great (with the possible exception of Mozart's wife Stanzi), and the music...well, the music speaks for itself. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2XwuxY9
