To those that loved the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) but were utterly disappointed with the Girl in the Spider's web, go check out the Swedish movies!

The Girl in the Spider's Web was pretty terrible (40% Rotten tomatoes) and was particularly disappointing since we waited so long for the Hollywood sequel to Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (86% Rotten Tomatoes). Spider's Web dumbs down the Lisbeth character to level and turns her into a female Jason Borne and Gudnason's Blomkvist is pretty pointless. I really didn't even feel like they were the same characters. Bashing Spider's Web wasn't my point of posting this though.During the hiatus between the American films I discovered that there were as a Swedish version of Dragon Tattoo with two subsequent films. After watching the Swedish Dragon Tattoo it's clear the Fincher was heavily influenced by the movie and the two versions of Dragon Tattoo are very similar. I recall in many instances, shot for shot but it's been a while. So, if you if you would like to see those characters again in films that develop their characters, check out the three Swedish movies.
