For the past 2 days there's been rumors/articles/tweets/etc going around about The Matrix 4 being in the works. This all came from a random interview Chad Stahelski (director of John Wick) did with United Kingdom Yahoo. In that interview, he said that that they Wachowskis were working on Matrix 4 and that he "And if they wanted help, I would absolutely put down whatever I was doing to help them."Now, right off the bat, this is sketchy. Why would news this big come from Stahelski in the first place and not from the studio and/or the Wachowskis? He's not really connected to them much at all and he gave pretty vague answers.Secondly, Stahelski is out doing promo for John Wick 3 which is coming out next week. It's pretty fishy that he would drop something so big so casually while doing promo for another Keanu Reeves movie. It's obvious he just wanted to do promo for John Wick 3 by dropping this 'bombshell'.After this interview came out, everybody started putting out their own articles and it kind of blew up, with most people saying that it was now "confirmed". Turns out, it's not, not at all. I guess word got back to Stahelski or Wachowskis' people and they instantly distanced themselves from it. Here's the statement released yesterday by Stahelski's people:[A representative for Chad Stahelski has reached out and let us know that the initial report was inaccurate. His comments were in response to a hypothetical scenario were the Wachowskis would be involved and he did not confirm them being attached to the new film.(http://bit.ly/2VeCMa0 one of these things happened:Yahoo UK misrepresented or edited Stahelski's answers to they could have a bigger 'scoop' to report. Clickbait.Stahelski wanted to build buzz for John Wick 3 so he casually dropped this huge news, knowing that it may not be official, in order to get people talking about him/his projects. Clickbait.He released information that wasn't supposed to be released, maybe for a variety of reasons, either on purpose or accidentally. The studio heard about this and it backfired. Unofficial news, also clickbait.Either way, there are no confirmed/concrete/official plans for The Matrix 4 and any article that say otherwise is clickbait.It's been posted here like 50 times and people still think it's happening, ignoring or not knowing about the statement proving it false.
