Trailers that show more than they should are nothing new, which is why I tend to only watch teasers for any movie in which I have a genuine interest.Yes, they can be even more misleading than full trailers, but at least they don’t end up spoiling the plot of the entire movie - twists and all (looking at you, Spider-Man: Homecoming). In recent years, however, a new trend has emerged: teaser trailers for teaser trailers. They usually consist of 3- to 5-second clips of the most impactful scenes of the movie (the “money shots”), shown at the very beginning of the video. It’s basically a tiny promo for what you’re about to see, and it spoils what was supposed to be showcased by the actual trailer. This week alone, it happened with Detective Pikachu, Dark Phoenix and Hellboy.Even worse is when you open YouTube and see suggested videos by channels that stole the official trailers from the studios and uploaded them to their own channels with very revealing thumbnails. You’re getting spoiled before even watching the damn things!Sorry for the rant, I just needed to vent. It’s hard to escape from spoilers when they’re being figuratively thrown at you.Edit with examples:X-Men: Dark PhoenixHellboyBoth videos for the full movie trailers, with tiny teasers at the beginning of the clips containing scenes of the actual trailer that follows. The Hellboy one was even uploaded by Lionsgate! And TV spots have followed the same format, including those for the Super Bowl. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2ND0WJg

» I wish this trend of “mini teaser trailers” in front of teaser trailers would stop
