Are there any movies who just were not the right choice for certain movies?Chris Columbus probably shouldn't have directed Rent.First of all, he's just such a clean cut director that he's just an odd choice for a musical as edgy as Rent.Second of all, besides the Harry Potter movies, he hasn't really directed a movie that really needed to rely on its visuals. No one cares about the cinematography of Home Alone or Mrs. Doubtfire, it's not what people went to see those movies for.And it kinda shows he's not used to creating grand visuals because the way he stages the musical numbers in Rent are so boring. He basically just keeps the camera on the actors as they sing and dance and doesn't do anything more interesting than that.
