'Waltz with Bashir', an animated Israeli film, is one of the greatest humanist war dramas ever made that's in the league of 'Incendies' and 'Grave of the Fireflies'. Highly recommended.

Director/writer Ari Folman's semi-autobiographical film is about a war veteran who goes on a journey to interview his old friends from the battlefield to recollect his memories of a massacre. It's haunting and devastating. The Archer-like animation was breathtaking and minimalistic. I especially loved the scenes in the water and during nighttime. Even the background score was a revelation. Max Richter's score can be described as a poignant blend of Hans Zimmer and Jóhann Jóhannsson's styles. The final seconds shocked me to the core - it was an artistic masterstroke. Especially recommended for the fans of 'Full Metal Jacket'.8/10 on IMDb96% on Rotten TomatoesTip: Try to watch the R-rated version of the film. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/2TH0RGL
