Bohemian Rhapsody and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story are the exact same film. (spoilers)

I saw Bohemian Rhapsody when it came out a few weeks ago, and while I thoroughly enjoyed and was entertained by the film, I couldn't help but feel like I'd seen it before. It wasn't until last night when I watched Walk Hard, one of my all-time favorite movies, that it finally clicked; from start to finish, the two films are nearly identical. While there are a few things here and there that happen in slightly different orders, by splitting the movies into three acts you will find that the same story ends up being told in both movies. Please bear with me I have only seen Bohemian Rhapsody once, so if I mess up a minor detail, please feel free to correct me, and obviously spoilers ahead if you haven't scene it yet.ACT ONEWalk Hard opens with the minutes leading up to Dewey Cox's final performance at the Lifetime Achievement Awards, which is also the final scene of the film. Over time, the repeated substance abuse and subsequent attitude problems form a rift between Dewey and his band. As he devalues their friendships to him personally as well as their musical contributions, the band breaks up and Dewey goes solo. After Freddie's fiancee leaves him, he self medicates with alcohol and wild parties. This separates Freddie from his band-mates who live rather tame personal lives. As Freddie falls deeper into alcoholism and the party scene, in addition to being manipulated by his manager and lover, a rift forms in the band as Freddie's attitude and lack of professionalism makes him increasingly more difficult to work with. When confronted by his band-mates, Freddie devalues their importance to his success as well as his need for their friendships.
